You know whenever you get into a new area of endeavor you always end up learning things, and when lawyers get involved – well… This is one of those areas that is both new to me, and involves lawyers. Silly me, I thought creating a privacy statements would be rather straight forward. After all I have no intention of selling mailing lists or sneaking around prying into other people’s private affairs, I have enough trouble keeping up with my own affairs.
Apparently though, just saying that isn’t enough these days. You have to have a formal privacy policy. I even found several website that promised to help me create one custom tailored to my business. But then I noticed that after asking me to enter in all kinds of personal information, many of the sites didn’t tell me what their privacy policies were…
And then there was the other legal matters like terms of use, and disclosures, and liability. In any case, in the end I came up with something that I think covers everything with a minimum of legalese. If you have any questions and/or concerns please let me know.
